DOCUMENT REQUIREMENTS FOR EU SPOUSES

• Visas Criteria For Spouses/Dependents Of UK Nationals:
• The applicant MUST be resident in the UK, e.g. Requires Leave To Remain in the UK as a work permit holder, HSMP etc...
• The UK residency permit must be endorsed in the actual passport. Home Office stamps/vignettes that are on separate documents will not be accepted by the embassy - If EU Spouse/Dependent, original marriage/birth certificate required + the primary resident's passport;
• The applicant's UK Leave must exceed the validity of the requested visa by more than 3 months or by 1 month when the applicant has a paid return ticket to their country of origin;
• The passport validity must exceed the validity of the requested visa by more than 3 months and must have a full blank page for the visa stamp;
• Visa Application Form is to be completed and signed by the applicant;

Supporting Documents Requirements:

1. Completed and signed French Schengen application visa form;
2. Two* passport photographs:
   Photographs are to be (45mm x 35mm), taken against a white background with good contrast clear/good quality image, printed on normal photographic paper, full face without sunglasses or head covering. (Scanned images will be rejected);
3. The partner's original passport;
4. Original marriage/birth certificate - Non UK issued certificates, if not in English or French must be translated and in many cases, irrespective of the language, may require authentication from the embassy of the country in which they were issued.
   All Spouses and dependants of EU nationals are entitled to request a Schengen visa, however, the French Embassy expects non UK EU nationals to acquire their visas from their respective embassies.

The French Embassy will usually only issue a single entry visa to non UK EU nationals with marriage/birth certificates that have not been certified at their respective embassy.

The spouses of French Nationals must apply to the embassy in person.

The Embassy also requires the application form's accommodation section (34) to be completed. It is prudent to supply proof of accommodation.

The French Embassy does not permitted us to lodge applications for the following passport holders, irrespective of whether they are married to EU nationals.

Please note:

We can no longer submit applications where the applicant has been previously turned down by the embassy in person;
We cannot lodge applications if the applicant's passport shows that they have in the past initially travelled on a French Scengen visa without treating France as their main destination.
