French Schengen Visa


willQ4u
are registered with the French Consulate General in London and are one of the few organisations officially allowed to lodge visa applications on behalf of clients at the French embassy. If you are planning to travel to France and need a Schengen visa at short notice, we willQ4u!

Whilst specialising in business visa applications, willQ4u will use its best endeavor to accommodate tourist visas.

French Schengen visa applications can usually be processed within 72 hours of us receiving your documentation. We currently require 2 days notice to book your application.

 

Schengen Visas

A freedom of movement treaty exists between the member states of the European Union countries that are signatories to the Schengen Agreement.

Schengen visas can be used for tourism, business or visits of a personal nature. The Schengen visa holder is free to travel to any of the Schengen countries as defined by the issued visa.

A Schengen visa is issued from the embassy of the country considered to be the applicant's main destination (the country in which most time will be spent or equal an amount of time but first point of entry).

FRENCH TOURIST VISA DOCUMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • The applicant MUST be resident in the UK, e.g. Requires Leave To Remain in the UK as a Student, working holiday maker, work permit holder, HSMP etc...
  • The UK residency permit must be endorsed in the actual passport. Home Office stamps/vignettes that are on separate documents will not be accepted by the embassy - If EU Spouse/Dependent, original marriage/birth certificate required + the primary resident's passport.
  • The applicant's UK Leave must exceed the validity of the requested visa by more than 3 months or by 2 months when the applicant has a paid return ticket to their country of origin.
  • The passport validity must exceed the validity of the requested visa by more than 3 months and must have a full blank page for the visa stamp.
  • The French Schengen Visa Application Form is to be completed and signed by the applicant: Visa Application Form
  • 2 Passport photos are required with each application:

The photographs are to be (45mm x 35mm), colour, taken against a white background with good contrast clear/good quality image, printed on normal photographic paper, full face without sunglasses or head covering. Scanned images will be rejected by the French Embassy

Supporting Documents Requirements:

  1. Letter from Employer + last 3 payslips; or a letter from accountant (if self employed) or letter from university (if school trip/student - letter requires statement of responsibility for student while in France and full itinerary). The letter must be on official letter headed paper, be less than 1 month old, state your current work/course status, it must be signed and have full contact details;
  2. Dependent Husband/Wife are required to present their partner's passport and an original marriage certificate. The marriage certificate must be in French or English. Marriage certificates in other languages must be translated and the translation must be authenticated by the respective embassy. Non UK marriage certificates may also require authentication at the respective embassy irrespective of the written language;
  3. Confirmed return ticket to France or confirmation from travel agent showing proof of payment (no open ticket itinerary);
  4. Proof of Hotel reservation confirmation. If visiting friends/relatives; a French certificate of board and lodgings (Attestation d' Accueil) must be obtained from local French Town Hall or Police Station - It sould be noted that the embassy will only issue a visa valid for the duration of the stay with friends/family.;
  5. Proof of financial means of support for the duration of the stay in France (a minimum of £30 per day). Evidence by way of original travellers cheques, signed by the applicant (ideally with purchase receipt) OR the most recent month's (original) bank statement, overdrafts are not accepted, nor are credit card statements;
  6. Medical/travel insurance cover - repatriation is compulsory. The documentation must show applicant name and their policy number. The policy must cover the duration of the visit (6 - 12 months cover will improve the chances of being issued a longer term multiple entry French Schengen Visa);
  7. Minors; traveling without parents or with one of their parents require a parental letter of authorisation to travel, both parents' passports (or certified copies) and a full birth certificate. Minors traveling with parents require a full birth certificate and both parents' passports. Birth certificates must be in French or English. Certificates in other languages must be translated and the translation must be authenticated by the respective embassy. Non UK Certificates may also require authentication at the respective embassy irrespective of the written language;;
  8. The Embassy's Insurance/Assurance declaration form is to be signed by the applicant.

Nationals from the following countries are required to submit their French Schengen visa applications in person:

Afghanistan . Algeria . Burma . Burundi . Colombia . Congo(Zaire) . Egypt . Indonesia . Iran . Iraq . Jordan . Kuwait . North Korea . Lebanon . Libya . Oman . Pakistan . Palestine . Philippines . Qatar . Rwanda . Saudi Arabia . Somalia . Sudan . Surinam . Syria . United Arab Emirates . Yemen . Zimbabwe

The French embassy DOES NOT permitted us to lodge applications for the above passport holders, nor do they permit us to lodge French Schengen Visa applications for holders of C-VISIT visas, for UK residents that have been issued with 6 month or less residency from date of UK entry (eg. Fiancé visa)


PLEASE NOTE:

  • The French Embassy NO LONGER allows agents to lodge Schengen visa applications on behalf of Spouses of EU Nationals (includes British) - The Embassy now requires that the applicant applies in person along with their partner.
  • We can no longer submit applications where the applicant has been previously turned down by the embassy in person;
  • We cannot lodge applications if the applicant's passport shows that they have in the past initially travelled on a French Scengen visa without treating France as their main destination.
